Meilahti Traction Station

The project is located in a busy urban environment. The rock formations behind the building inspired the facade design. The three-dimensional shapes on the facades consist of pyramidical voids and protrusions that form large-scale texturing on the concrete surfaces. The facades are made of self-hardening polymer fibre concrete cast in a 3D mould. A green roof visually extends the greenery on the rocky hills to the top of the traction station.
